Scratching The Surface

If only we spoke what we truly felt? If only when we asked someone how they are doing if we would actually care to listen? Do we kneel down to those who are hurting? Do we pray for our brother at war? Do we seek validation more then we show appreciation? We live in a dying world, not just physically dying, but spiritually. It has become more about what someone looks like then what someone- feels. It seems we are killing our human experience and emotion. Did you know some of the kindest, most gentle ones are often the most over- looked, and passed over? Why do we look past the widow? Why do we judge when alone are flawed. A lot of conversations can become so surface, so mundane, each and every single person on this earth has a story, some stories are harder then others, some are brutal and some are beautiful, some will hit you like a ton of bricks, some will make you weep and some will cause rejoicing and triumph! But you want to know what is the most beautiful thing about that is that, they ALL matter, every single persons story matters.

I wish that we could have more raw and real conversations with one another without any judgement connected to it and truly just listen, not to comment back or enforce our own opinion on the matter, but to just hear and truly hear. The world is a dark place and that is not unknown too many in these days, but we can share light, we can spread light and sometimes the light can come in the most darkest of places. I do not know about you or know what that story is of yours, what you have been through whether it is a death, a divorce, a substance abuse problem that is hidden from every one you may know, or whatever that thing is that is causing so much shame and pain, but I do know this. It matters, what you have been through MATTERS, it matters more then you will EVER know because not only were the stars made so specifically and intrecretely, lives are too. There is a purpose for your pain, a glory in your story and a person who needs to hear it.

You see when you look at a diamond, we see beauty, brilliance and richness, but what we cannot see are those who are across the world making it- days on end, hour after hour, looking for gold- yearning for it. I think sometimes that can be like us, things can look good, look okay, but nobody knows the digging, the dirt, the pain that has been endured to receive the diamond- the crushing. Have you been crushed? Have you only scratched the surface? I know I have, but theres more theres so much more to your story- you have only began to scratch the surface.
