Hebrews 11:1 " Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
Just because you can't see it with your eyes doesn't mean it isn't there. Faith is the ability to see things unseen on earth, but with the ability of seeing with the eyes of you're heart, beyond you're earthly eyes. I love the scene in ,The Santa Clause movie, where the little boy is asked by his step dad, "how do you know Santa is real?" and he replies, "do you believe in a million dollars?" The dad says, "well yes," and the boy asked, "have you scene a million dollars? The response was, "no I haven't," so the boy said, "just because you haven't scene it doesn't mean it doesn't exist." I think that this is similar too God. At certain times in life it can be unclear where God is and can be hard to believe he is present in your life. I mean, Santa may not be real, but in that movie (such a good watch by the way ;)) the little boy really did see Santa with his own eyes and he knew he was real, children are like that, they can have faith so easily, adults should be like that too, makes life simpler!
If God is a good God, why is there trouble? John 16:33 says, " I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble, But take heart! I have overcome the world. " Our eyes will see troubles on earth, but we have another set of eyes, eyes that see hope, eyes that see courage and eyes that can see past troubles. These eyes are the ones that look too God. HE is above all circumstances and all trials. A beautiful quote from the great, CS Lewis is," I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen not only because I see it but because by it I see everything else." You may see God in people or in speakers and for that you may see God for who he truly is. You may see him in the little things and you may even have seasons where it is terribly hard to see him period, but doesn't change that he is there with you in everything, beside you and fighting for you.
Faith is not always easy, but it is a hella lot more easier then having none at all. I would much rather go through hardships in this life with hope and looking onto a faithful God then to have nothing at all. I want to look at God and trust in him regardless of what may be going on around me. I know that he took on much more then I could ever bare and so how can I not have hope in him? After the amount of pain he took on to save those he loves is far greater then anything in this world. And the faith of a child see's life through pure eyes with innocence, beauty and courage that is my goal, to me; that is seeing the unseen. Children are more inspiring then we give credit for. For seeing is not believing, believing is seeing.
